GRAMMY-winning gospel duo debuts new song "Sunday Morning" only on GRAMMY.com
On May 8 GRAMMY-winning gospel duo Mary Mary are set to release Go Get It, a greatest hits compilation containing two brand-new songs. Ahead of the album's release, GRAMMY.com has your exclusive first listen to one of the two new songs, "Sunday Morning."
Natives of Inglewood, Calif., sisters Erica and Tina Campbell began developing their crystalline harmonies as children in their local church choir. In 2000 Mary Mary released their debut album, Thankful, which topped Billboard's Gospel Albums chart and earned the duo their first GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album. Incredible followed in 2002, which topped the Gospel Albums chart again and featured a cover of Stevie Wonder's "You Will Know." In 2005 Mary Mary earned a nomination for Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album for their self-titled release, which shot to No. 8 on the Billboard 200. Produced by Erica's husband, Warryn Campbell, 2008's The Sound peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, their highest-charting album to date. The album featured "Get Up," which earned the duo their second GRAMMY Award for Best Gospel Performance. The duo teamed with Warryn Campbell again for 2011's Something Big, which reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Gospel Album.
In addition to the brand-new songs "Go Get It" and "Sunday Morning," Go Get It will feature remixed and remastered versions of Mary Mary's greatest hits. The album is a companion to "Mary Mary," a show following the duo onstage as successful recording artists and performers and offstage as siblings, mothers and wives, airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on WE tv.
