Each summer, Lollapalooza brings the world’s hottest acts to Chicago for three days of nonstop music. Thousands of diehard fans invade Grant Park to hear their favorite bands perform from one of the festival’s stages. Many have experienced Lollapalooza, but few are familiar with its true magnitude.
On August 2, GRAMMY U: Behind the Scenes at Lollapalooza will give members an exclusive chance to observe the inner workings of one of the world’s most massive concert events before it begins. Led by the professionals who are responsible for Lollapalooza’s development and execution, participating students will be treated to a tour of the park’s grounds. As we discuss the various dimensions of Lollapalooza with its crew members, GRAMMY U students will learn that preparation for the festival begins well in advance of the weekend’s first performances.
