Washington, D.C.- Remembering Whitney and Reconnecting with Adele
The members of The Recording Academy Washington D.C. Chapter gathered in their best threads at BarCode for a night of entertainment, fellowship, and comfort. Guests came together to celebrate music’s biggest night and the memory of an iconic artist, Whitney Elizabeth Houston.
Greeted by the lovely ladies of Courvoisier handing out tasty libations and sweet treats from sponsors Sprinkles and Tamicakes, members began the night ready to mix and mingle.
In between watching the telecast that included exciting performances by The Foo Fighters, Rihanna, and a Tribute to The Beach Boys, DJ Beauty and The Beatz kept our audience moving with the GRAMMY nominee CD and classics that honored the talented Whitney Houston. Guests enjoyed the complimentary photo booth where they commemorated the night with a pic or two or four.
The biggest performances of the night that commanded silence in the venue were the moving tribute by Jennifer Hudson for Whitney Houston and the comeback performance by Adele; both equally powerful and captivating.
Other great moments of the night were watching Adele sweep the awards, the DJ set by David Guetta and Deadmau5, and the presentation of the GRAMMY for Best New Artist to Bon Iver.
