On April 3, GRAMMY U students flocked to the Warner Theater to hear Robert Glasper and his band work their magic during sound check while on tour promoting his new album Black Radio

In preparation for the concert with Incognito w/Maysa, Robert Glasper was gracious enough to answer student questions which included the major obstacles he has encountered in the industry, as well as his musical inspirations and creative process.  Following question and answer, Gasper showcased his talent on the piano while the saxophonist and drummer warmed up for an exciting performance.

The environment was inviting and hospitable, with Glasper also showcasing his comedic side.  Shaneika Brooks, Product Manager at Blue Note Records, took time out of her hectic schedule to answer some questions about her background, duties, and her abilities to manage time effectively.

Before leaving, Robert Glasper took a group photo with GRAMMY U students.  If you missed this GRAMMY Camp - SoundChecks, you missed a wonderful experience to engage in dialogue with one of New York’s most talented jazz musicians.
