Philadelphia - ProTools 8 Demo and Studio Tour

On May 27 the Philadelphia Chapter and Producers & Engineers Wing presented a Pro Tools 8 Demo And Studio Tour at Studio Ten Creative Group, an NBC TV affiliate. Members and guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and networking followed by a demo of the features of Digidesign's new Pro Tools 8 software, led by Avid representative Robert Miller. Miller explained and demonstrated the features in-depth including real-time pitch stretching, utilizing additional plug-ins, MIDI instruments, and multitrack editing. Miller also answered attendees' questions, ranging from using the software in an educational setting to the restraints of the software compared to those of its competitors. Following the demonstration, attendees toured Studio Ten's new audio and video facilities and the set of the local morning show, "The 10! Show."

Members and guests enjoyed the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the morning news show many of them watch each day, as well as learn about the latest Pro Tools technology.
