New Orleans - Sync Up Conference

The Memphis Chapter was proud to co-sponsor the 3rd annual Sync Up conference, which was presented by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation during the past two weekends.
The conference is held in conjunction with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and featured panel discussions on a variety of topics, including international festival booking, music supervison of film and TV, internet marketing strategies and a look into the career of Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews' rise in becoming our region's newest major label artist. Sync Up also featured a screening of Icons Among Us: Jazz In The Present Tense.
Moving Sync Up to the New Orleans Museum of Art was brilliant. It is within walking distance of Jazz Fest and Sync Up attendees were able to park for free and walk to the fest. And the new location of the Sync Up hospitality suite was also a welcome change.
I was pleased that Angelia Bibbs-Sanders, VP of Member Services of The Recording Academy, joined us again this year and spoke about the launch of GRAMMY365.com, which was a perfect tie-in with the internet marketing panel.
We're looking forward to bigger and better things for Sync Up next year...congratulations to Scott Aiges on putting together a great conference...don't miss it next year!
