Chicago - In The Studio With The Legendary Traxster

On Dec. 6, the Chicago Chapter and the Producers & Engineers Wing welcomed The Legendary Traxster back to his home city of Chicago to talk about the art of production. The event was held in front of a standing room only crowd on the main floor space of the Guitar Center in Country Club Hills, and Traxster took the time to break down the whole process of creating a song -- from conception of a simple melody idea to the ever important art of mastering. The eager audience was treated to first-hand instruction on how Traxster uses different pieces of software and hardware to create textures in his music, as well as hear his feelings on the importance of spontaneous creation with the live musicians he had on site with him.  At one point, and to the delight of the crowd, he even sampled an audience member that he heard humming a melody line.
